Even at a young age, Eric knew the importance of prudent saving and spending, thanks in part to the values passed down by his grandmother. As a business owner, she understood the value of money and encouraged Eric to save much of what he earned from his first job. He took her advice, going with her to the local bank to invest his small nest egg in a CD. He’s been focused on finance ever since.
Financial services was a natural career choice for Eric, with his strong analytical skills, dedicated work ethic and desire to serve others. He especially enjoys the financial planning aspect of his work with clients because it makes such a difference to their futures – addressing that they are saving appropriately for retirement and then using efficient withdrawal strategies so they have enough for their future.
Being able to help his clients make decisions that mean a healthy financial future is rewarding to Eric, but his greatest joy is seeing financial plans come to fruition – looking back to see how far his clients have come and knowing he helped them.
Eric has been in the financial industry for more than 20 years, honing his investment management and financial planning knowledge. In 2016, he joined Cornerstone Wealth Management as an independent financial advisor because he wanted to serve clients with objective advice, fewer conflicts of interest and a wider range of investment options.
Along with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Truman State University, Eric has earned the Accredited Asset Management SpecialistTM designation from the College for Financial Planning.
Eric and his wife, Bobby, enjoy spending time with their son and daughter, and their many activities. Outside of work, you can often find Eric helping coach his kids’ sports and enjoying the outdoors.
